Description
In a conversation and practice designed to quiet the fluctuations of the mind and bring a sense of calm, David begins with a dialogue of how yoga may accompany us through the years.
As many of us turn to yoga for guidance both physically and spiritually as we age, David introduces the yoga philosophy concepts of Abhyasa (practice), Viragya (non-attachment) and Abhinivesah (fear of death) and how these evolve as we age. With a discussion that allows for expression of ideas, fears, denial, truth, reality, and more, while maintaining acceptance and humility, this session with David explores how yoga can guide and teach us as we live longer and more actively. Finally, through a guided set of pranayama or breathing sequences, you will hopefully experience a sense of calm, ease and resilience.
Sponsored by Artemis Yoga of Watertown, Massachusetts, this workshop is part of a continuing series of Yoga and Aging: Cultivating Resilience workshops from February to May 2022 with relevant themes on spinal health, mobility, balance and more. Learn more: https://yogaandaging.com/
